I love rainy summer evenings, because it means I can break out my cozy autumn sweaters, and not feel ridiculous about it. Summer is incredible, with the sunshine and amazing smells and general feeling of freedom and happiness, but there is nothing like being wrapped in an oversized sweater that feels more like a blanket than an article of clothing. This particular blanket-sweater was recently thrifted, and I don’t know if I’ve ever been more excited about something that I purchased for $5. It’s quite a thick knit, but these adorable shorts and simple tank top made it the perfect selection to ward off the chilly breeze floating through the air.
PS – bonus photo of my dogs crashing my photoshoot.
You guys, it was warm and wonderful enough outside yesterday to wear shorts. SHORTS. Do you realize how exciting this is?! Of course, today it’s cloudy and cold and rainy, but still – I wore shorts outside yesterday!
While I silently judge people who wear their pajamas as real-life clothing outside the house, I’m a big fan of clothes that look and feel like cozy jammies, but clearly are not. These shorts are exactly that – soft, loose, uber comfy, and have a drawstring and elastic waistband, so they’re really great for Game of Thrones feast nights.
This sweater also fits the theme of not-pajamas clothes. It’s my personal favourite, and I’m actually shocked that I don’t wear it every single day. It just goes with everything, and it always adds that carefree, “I don’t give a @#!$” vibe that I dig.
I was really digging on my makeup yesterday, so here, have a complementary selfie, complete with a product list:
Eyes: Maybelline Color Tattoo Metals in Barely Bronzed as a base, L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Amber Rush, and the Maybelline Nudes Palette. Maybelline Color Tattoo Leather in Dramatic Black as eyeliner. Urban Decay Supercurl mascara.
Face: Maybelline Fit Me matte + poreless foundation. NARS Orgasm blush. Wet n’ Wild Reserve Your Cabanada highlighting powder.
Lips: Wet n’ Wild lip liner in Naughty Nude. Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick in Nude List.
This is the definition of GPOY – I looked cute today and I thought the world outside my office should know. I’ve been the proud owner of these magical boots for approximately 55 hours, and we are already deeply in love. They almost didn’t come home with me but I just couldn’t leave them behind, and now we’re going to grow old together. It’ll be a beautiful life.
Project 10 Pan Update #1:
I’ve been doing Project 10 Pan for 11 days now. Not very long, so I’ve not made too much progress but I want to do updates somewhat regularly if only to keep myself accountable.
The Maybelline Color Tattoo, L’Oreal Blackbuster eyeliner, and L’Oreal Miracle Blur eye treatment are well on their way to being all used up. These are the ones I’ve been making a point of putting back into my daily routine. Actually, I’ve been using the NYC bronzer almost daily as well, but don’t seem to be increasing the size of the dent in it. However, it’s only been a week and a half so I think I’m expecting too much. As for the rest of the products, I haven’t been making much of an effort with them. I know, I know – for shame, Stephanie. It’s hard to force yourself to use a product when you know you have other (read: better) options at your fingertips.
I’m thinking I need to get a little container for my makeup counter to put all of my P10P stuff into, because I don’t remember to reach for these products when I’m getting ready. It’s my fault, really, I wake up with no time to spare in the morning and have my routine shaved down to the last second, so anything that slows me down just isn’t going to happen. I value sleep more than I value the luxury of time in the morning, hashbrown sorry not sorry (Kimmy Schmidt anyone?!).
